Introduction

Years ago when I started learning about the magic and medicine of plants everything felt so new and exciting. Energetic vibrations and butterflies in my stomach filled from excitement. It's been over 25 years now and I've been working with the plants all this time. The energy exchange that I have with many of the plants is one that's familiar, it comes from years of being in a relationship together. It's a feeling that will never go away, it's solid and secure. But there are some plants that still feel like l'm meeting them for the first time. They give me butterflies. They have a sacred feeling that is filled with magic and mystery. They leave me feeling unsure, like they're hiding something and if I don't paying close attention, I'll miss it. Mugwort is one of those plants for me. It's hard for me to describe the feeling I get. It's one of reverence and curiosity and excitement. As always I'm eager for the return of the plants but in the meantime l'm loving the time I have during these darker months to go within. This is a great time of the year to do dream work especially around the new moon. This is one of the ways I work with Mugwort.
